EPAT

An assessment for exceptional ambition.

EPAT is an exceptionally challenging English and Verbal Reasoning assessment designed for pupils preparing for entrance to the UK's most selective schools.

It isn't another collection of 11+ practice papers.

It is designed to answer a much more useful question:

How prepared is this student for the level of challenge ahead?

What is EPAT?

EPAT consists of six separate one-hour assessments. Together, they provide a rigorous assessment of a student's English and Verbal Reasoning ability.

The purpose isn't simply to produce a score.

EPAT is designed to reveal:

  • Where a student is already performing exceptionally well
  • Where weaknesses or knowledge gaps remain
  • Which areas require further preparation
  • How prepared they currently appear for highly selective entrance examinations

EPAT does not predict admission to any particular school. It provides evidence of a student's current level of preparation, and of the areas that still require development.

Who is EPAT for?

EPAT isn't designed for everyone.

And that's intentional.

It has been created for academically ambitious pupils who enjoy being stretched, challenged and occasionally stumped.

The assessment is particularly suited to students who are:

  • Preparing for highly selective 11+ entrance examinations
  • Already performing strongly academically
  • Curious and intellectually ambitious
  • Comfortable tackling unfamiliar problems
  • Looking for a genuine test of their current ability

For many students, EPAT will be unnecessarily difficult.

For the right student, that is precisely the point.

How it works

  1. 01

    Take the Pre-Test

Start with our short pre-test to establish whether EPAT is likely to be an appropriate level of challenge.

  2. 02

    Take the EPAT

Complete six rigorous one-hour assessments across English and Verbal Reasoning.

  3. 03

    Discover the gaps

Receive detailed results showing strengths, weaknesses and areas requiring further development.

  4. 04

    Prepare intelligently

Use those results to focus preparation where it will have the greatest impact.

So, are you an EPAT student?

There's one way to find out.
